Feeding a dog with kidney disease is hard enough without second guessing the recipe
When your dog is diagnosed with kidney disease, diet becomes one of the most important parts of their care. Many dogs need food that is lower in phosphorus and moderate to low in protein, while still providing complete nutrition. Getting that balance right with home cooking alone is very difficult.
CompleteMe® Renal Canine is designed to take the guesswork out. It’s a meal completer supplement from VNG, formulated by Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionists® Dr Becca Leung and Dr Meredith Wall. Add it to fresh ingredients using VNG’s therapeutic feeding guides, and you can make a balanced renal diet at home with the meats and ingredients your dog enjoys.
Formulated for the management of
- Early chronic kidney disease (IRIS stage 1 to 2)
- Advanced chronic kidney disease (IRIS stage 3 to 4)
- Acute kidney injury
Why vets and pet parents trust CompleteMe® Renal Canine
- Developed by veterinary nutritionists. Both the supplement and the feeding guides were created by VNG’s Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionists®.
- Low phosphorus meals, your choice of ingredients. Choose from raw or cooked meats, vegetables and other ingredients to suit your dog’s tastes. Low fat and novel protein options are available.
- Astragalus extract. Research suggests it may help reduce proteinuria in dogs with chronic kidney disease and support antioxidant status.
- DHA omega 3 from marine algae. DHA may help reduce kidney fibrosis and has potential renoprotective effects.
- Antioxidants from Australian berries. Strawberry, blueberry and raspberry provide fisetin and pterostilbene, which are linked to supporting kidney function.
- Prebiotics and postbiotics. Psyllium husk and Saccharomyces cerevisiae fermentate support a healthy, diverse gut microbiome and may help reduce the production of uraemic toxins.
- Hypoallergenic formula. There are no added animal proteins.

Frequently asked questions
- Is CompleteMe® Renal Canine suitable for dogs with early and advanced kidney disease?
- Yes. VNG provides separate feeding guides for early and advanced kidney disease, and the supplement is used with both. Ask your vet which suits your dog.
- Can I use it with raw meat?
- Yes, it works with raw or cooked meat such as chicken, kangaroo, turkey or pork. VNG recommends human grade meat, frozen for at least 10 days before feeding raw (3 weeks for pork in areas with Trichinella). Raw feeding is not suitable for every dog or household, so please check with your vet first.
- Can I add it to commercial dog food?
- No. It should not be added to commercial diets or used with other vitamin and mineral supplements, as this could cause harmful excesses of some nutrients.
- How should I store it?
- Keep it in the fridge to protect freshness, and use a clean, dry spoon so no moisture gets into the bag.
- What is the shelf life?
- The best by date is up to 11 to 12 months from manufacture. This protects the freshness of the freeze dried ingredients and the potency of the omega 3 and vitamins.
- Why is Mishcats stocking dog products?
- Mishcats is Australia’s cat specialist, but customer demand for VNG’s veterinary nutritionist formulated range led us to add selected dog products.
