Cats go nuts over these Purrs Power Mix Puffs! They are stand alone toys (not a wand attachment), they come in various sizes and shapes with natural turkey feathers and the choice of either Wild Hare or Sheepie (made from British free range sheepskin). Infused with Purrs Power Mix – a special selection of 4 herbs which cats find most adore – Nepeta cataria (catnip), Nepeta mussini (catmint), Honeysuckle and Valerium officinalis (valerian). Our girls love these so much we have to remove it from them so they rest!
- The Wild Hare Puff fur is a by-product from free roaming Wild Hares living a natural outdoor life in Germany, Netherlands & Poland and are protected under EU Animal Welfare Wildlife Laws. Wild European Hares have protected seasons so availability of the toys are dependant on the amount of welfare conservation control needed. Far better than the cheap rabbit fur toys from cruel factory intensive farms with no welfare protection and any fur from China
- The Sheepie Puff wool is a by-product from free roaming sheep living a natural outdoor life in UK and are protected under British Animal Welfare Laws
- Natural Colours in greys, white and browns
- If your cat is prone to eating and swallowing toys, please supervise play at all times
- Infused with Purrs Power Mix
Catmint – Catnip Mussini
Of the same family herb as normal Catnip (Nepeta Cataria) but with more of a mint smell that cats love! Catnip contains a substance called Nepetalactone which releases endorphins leading to a euphoric state. When dried however cats can become cats sometimes become completely calm and relaxed.
Catnip – Nepeta Cataria
Catnip is a natural product that gives cats a feel good feeling, it has been known to promote relaxation and reduce stress in cats due to the endorphins produced by the active component Nepetalactone.
Valerian – Valerium Officinalis
Cats are driven into a euphoric frenzy by the smell of valerian root and affects the domestic cat in a similar way as that of catnip. Valerian is a herb well-renowned for it’s stress-relieving benefits, and one that’s perfectly safe for kitties in the right form and quantity. When consumed, the effects of valerian can include euphoria, purring, and can even fall asleep. If your cat smells valerian, the effects may be similar to that of catnip, being extra playful, rubbing against it and running about like a loonatic. Valerian as an essential oil (ie unnatural oil form produced for human use), should not be given directly to cats as in this form it is too strong. The dried root (natural form) or diluted spray can be incorporated / infused into toys. Some components of valerian if injested are metabolized in the liver and may increase results of liver/kidney function tests. Cats with liver illness should avoid digesting the root. Used as a scent stimulation within toys, natural Valerian root is safe for cats.
Honeysuckle
Many cats react to honeysuckle in a similar way to how they may react to catnip. Some will become extra playful, rubbing against it and running about like a loonatic. Others may appear more mellow or sleepy. The difference with Honeysuckle over Catnip is that most cats don’t react to catnip until they have reached sexual maturity. However that doesn’t seem to be the case with Honeysuckle as even kittens may react to it!
